Lexington Three Digital Learning Coach Achieves Google Certified Trainer Status

Congratulations to Lexington County School District Three Digital Learning Coach Ashley Fort on becoming a Google for Education Certified Trainer.  Ashley, who was recognized at the May 2019 Board of Trustees meeting, becomes the second person in the district alongside fellow Digital Learning Coach Andrea Derrick to achieve this elite status.  The steps involved in becoming a Google Certified Trainer include completing a trainer course, trainer skills assessment, Google Certified Educator Level One and Level Two exams, and a three-minute-long video.  Google for Education Certified Trainers are passionate and driven education professionals with a desire to assist others in transforming their classrooms with technology, according to the official Google for Education website.

In 2017, following Lexington Three’s first year of one-to-one technology implementation, the district was invited to become a Google Reference District.  As the district advances its one-to-one technology initiative through G Suite for Education, it is proud to recognize teachers and staff members who have taken the initiative to further their learning as Google Educators and Trainers who can lead professional development opportunities and model best practices in technology integration in the classroom. The presence of Google Certified Educators and Trainers within Lexington School District Three is evidence of the district’s commitment to advanced student learning in its schools.

Congratulations, Ashley!
