Tickets Now Available For Lexington Three Wizard of Oz Musical

Community members who are interested in attending Lexington County School District Three’s production of The Wizard of Oz on March 14th can now pick up tickets at one of Lexington Three’s schools or the District Office.  Tickets are free for both the 1 pm and 7 pm shows and are required for admittance to the musical, which is set to take place at the Lexington Three Fine Arts Center on Summerland Avenue.

Students from all four Batesburg-Leesville schools are participating in the show, marking the first time in Lexington Three history that a district-wide musical has ever been produced.  The show, which is being directed by B-L High School teacher Lyle Browne, is being performed in commemoration of Lexington County School District Three’s centennial birthday. A full cast list can be found by visiting www.lex3.org.

Also on March 14th at 3:30 pm in the Batesburg-Leesville High School gymnasium there will be a Birthday Celebration in honor of Lexington Three turning 100 years old. Community members are invited to attend and are encouraged to bring copies of old pictures they may have from their time in Lexington Three’s schools. (Participating guests should make sure that only copies of pictures are brought to the event as they will not be returned.) The pictures will be used by district administrators to create an historical collage.  In addition, guests at the celebration will be able to enjoy delicious cake, mingle with old classmates, meet the cast from The Wizard of Oz, and write messages to the current Batesburg-Leesville High School senior class.
