First-Ever CMA Class from B-L High School Begins Clinicals

B-L High School's first-ever Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) students are embarking on a new journey as they begin clinical rotations around town.

The CMA class at BLHS, which is two semesters long, is divided into two main parts. The first semester involves students mostly learning in the classroom and lab. The second semester sends students out into the real world to gain hands-on experience. Students must complete 40 clinical hours in order to be eligible to take the national CMA exam in May.  A special thanks to the following businesses for hosting our students: Leesville Dental Associates, Generations of Batesburg, CORA Physical Therapy, and Focus Eye Care.

This is the first school year that students at B-L High School have had the option of taking the CMA class, which is one of the school's growing CATE (Career and Technology Education) program offerings.  Seven senior students compose the first-ever CMA class.
