Student athletes ages 14 and older who are in the 8th through 11th grades in Lexington Three are eligible to receive a free cardiovascular screening through MUSC. The screenings will take place at B-L High School during the school day on April 29th and 30th. (Middle school participants will ride a bus to BLHS.) The screening includes an EKG and ultrasound performed by a cardiovascular tech student. Results will be sent to the school at a later date after tests have been reviewed by a physician. All results will be sent home with students. Any abnormal results will require the parent to set up an appointment with their primary care provider as soon as possible.
A consent/release form from MUSC must be completed by the student athlete's parent and returned to Mrs. Cotney by April 22nd to ensure a time slot. Please contact Mrs. Cotney by email to obtain a form. kcotney@lex3.org
