Lexington County School District Three announces that Wednesday, November 4th will now be an eLearning Day for all schools in the district instead of our regularly scheduled Early Release Day.
This change is necessary due to a scheduled power outage by Dominion Energy on Wednesday, November 4th. The outage is anticipated to last several hours and will impact multiple district facilities. In the highly unlikely event of severe weather that would prevent Dominion Energy from safely completing its scheduled work, the power outage could be postponed to another day. Should this occur, we will swiftly communicate any necessary schedule changes and additional information to parents and guardians.
As a general reminder, all schools and district facilities will be closed on Tuesday, November 3rd in observance of the Election Day holiday.
What is an eLearning Day?
An eLearning Day in Lexington Three means that students do not physically come to school. Instead, they complete assignments remotely from the safety of their home.
eLearning Details:
All students in grades K4 through 12th grade will have eLearning assignments to complete on Wednesday, November 4th. Students in grades K4 through 2nd grade will have written assignments to complete via paper packets. Students in the 3rd through 12th grades will have assignments to complete via Google Classroom using their district-issued Chromebook. Unless otherwise indicated by the teacher, all assignments should be turned in by no later than Wednesday, November 18th. Please note that internet access is not a requirement for any of the Chromebook assignments to be completed. If internet access is not available at home, the completed assignments should be left open on your child’s Chromebook as they will automatically sync and update once the Chromebook is back inside the confines of our district internet system. Any student who has questions about an assignment can email his/her teacher.
Extracurricular Events:
Students participating in extracurricular activities, including sports, should check with their coaches for any schedule updates, particularly regarding practices. All scheduled games will take place as planned.
Lexington Three recognizes the burden that schedule changes can place on our Panther families. That’s why we work to communicate any updates as quickly as possible, giving families sufficient time to adjust their plans. Thank you for your continued support of Lexington County School District Three.
