On Tuesday, July 13th, the Lexington County School District Three Board of Trustees voted to approve Marcus Lambert as the new Assistant Administrator of Batesburg-Leesville Primary School. Mr. Lambert officially started in his new role on Wednesday, July 21st. Mr. Lambert will work with Principal Charlene High and Assistant Principal Michelle Maroney as Assistant Administrator. His primary responsibilities will be supporting positive student behaviors and a positive school culture at Batesburg-Leesville Primary School. He will also support teachers in the classroom by ensuring they have the instructional tools and resources needed to maximize student growth.
Mr. Lambert, who is originally from Vermont, joins Lexington Three from Richland School District Two where he taught first and third grade students for the past nine years. During his time in Richland Two, Mr. Lambert implemented several afterschool programs including Early Act (a program in partnership with the local Rotary Club that teaches active community citizenship/leadership) and Run Hard (a program for boys to build character, provide support for students, and train for a 5K race). In addition, he co-authored multiple grants, was awarded the Distinguished Teacher of Reading Award by the Columbia Area Reading Council in 2015, served as President of the Columbia Area Reading Council in 2017, was a first and third grade team leader and completed Richland Two’s Training Administrators Program.
Mr. Lambert received his Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management from Temple University in 2008. He went on to receive a Master’s Degree in Education from Cabrini College in 2011 and a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from the University of South Carolina in 2017.
Mr. Lambert and his wife, Stephanie, have three children--Ayden (12), Landon (11), and Jackson (2). In his spare time, Mr. Lambert enjoys sports activities (especially basketball and football), spending time with family, and being outdoors.
