Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Congratulations to our middle school volleyball team that finished second in the south division for the Lex Ten Conference! They will host a first round tournament game on Thursday, October 7th versus Pelion. Way to go Panthers!
Due to the ongoing challenges associated with COVID-19 and the high numbers of quarantines for students and staff, the optional eLearning Day that was originally scheduled for Wednesday, October 6, 2021 is being rescheduled to a regular, full day for all students in K4-12th grade.
Information about future eLearning Days will be provided each month as we continue to monitor the health and safety of students and staff. We appreciate the support and understanding of our Panther families as we navigate the changing impact of COVID-19 on our daily routines both at school and home.
We are currently experiencing difficulties with our district Facebook pages, so please bear with us as we work through those issues. Our Twitter, Instagram and YouTube pages are still functioning, however, so be sure to visit those for up-to-date Lex 3 news!
Tickets for Friday, September 24th's Varsity football game versus Dreher High School are now available online. https://blpanthers.com/event-tickets
Please note that NO tickets will be available for purchase at the gates of Panther Stadium. Thank you and GO PANTHERS!
Mr. Benard Trotter's Building Construction classes at B-L High School recently completed nine picnic tables (that are ADA compliant) for use at the SC State Fair this fall. The project, which was coordinated by MEBA and the SC State Fair Facilities Team, provided a wonderful opportunity for our students to produce a physical product for a business partner. Great job BLHS students!
All students in Lexington Three will be receiving interim reports on Friday, September 17th with the exception of students who attend B-L Primary School. Because of the ongoing transitions we are currently experiencing due to COVID-19 at BLPS, those students will not receive interim progress reports on September 17th. Instead, student data notebooks will be sent home for review on Thursday, September 30th.
The B-L High School Varsity Panther football team will now play the Lewisville High School Lions on Friday, September 17th at Panther Stadium. (Originally, they were supposed to play Strom Thurmond High School.) Kick-off will be at 7:30 pm. Tickets will be available for Panther fans at the gate.
Face-to-face classes will resume at Batesburg-Leesville High School on Monday, September 13th. All instruction will follow the normal class schedule. Any student with a quarantine date past 9/13 should remain at home and complete the course work posted in Google Classroom until the date previously communicated with you. As always, if you are sick, please stay home and contact BLHS at (803) 532-9251.
Lexington Three's schools and facilities will resume their regular schedules on Thursday, September 9th. (BLHS students will remain on their virtual schedule.) Thank you for your patience and understanding today as we navigated unusual circumstances due to the water supply issue in the Town of Batesburg-Leesville.
It appears that the water supply problems in the Town of B-L are not going to resolve themselves as soon as we had hoped, so we will be dismissing students early today (September 8th). We will follow our normal car rider and bus rider procedures with students dismissing at the following times:
B-L Primary School students will dismiss at 9:00 am
B-L Elementary School students will dismiss at 9:15 am.
B-L Middle School students will dismiss at 9:30 am.
Please note that the rest of this school day will be an E-Learning Day. Students in K4 will have paper assignment packets sent home with them. Students in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade can access their assignments in Google Classroom via their Chromebook.
At B-L High School, there will not be any live virtual classes today. Instead, students in grades 9th through 12th can find their assignments in Google Classroom as well.
Lexington Three is aware of major water supply issues affecting the Town of Batesburg-Leesville. Due to the timing of this advisory, Lexington Three is planning to open schools at their regular times today and we will attempt to hold a normal school day as we're told water could be restored soon. However, if water is not able to be restored, we may have to have an early dismissal day. Parents/Guardians should stay tuned for additional messaging that would be forthcoming should an early dismissal need to occur. Thank you for working with us.
Don't forget that Monday, September 6th is a holiday for all staff and students in Lexington Three as the district observes Labor Day. Enjoy the long weekend!
Beginning on Friday, September 3rd, all students in grades 9th through 12th at Batesburg-Leesville High School will move to virtual (remote) learning. The move to virtual learning only applies to students at Batesburg-Leesville High School and does NOT impact students at any other school in Lexington Three. Get more details in our news section at www.lex3.org.
THANK YOU!
We wanted to give a shout out to the entire Batesburg-Leesville community for the support you show us. Today, we had a $1,400 check dropped off by a representative of the Leesville Merchants Association. The money will be used to replenish items in our student supply closets at B-L Middle and B-L High Schools.
In addition to this, NUMEROUS churches, organizations and groups have contributed various items to us this school year including school supplies, teacher gifts, yummy treats, etc. and we are truly just so thankful.
Batesburg-Leesville IS THE PLACE TO BE!
JROTC cadets at B-L High School set up a touching memorial today in front of their school in honor of the service men and women killed last week in Afghanistan. 13 pairs of boots, along with 13 American flags flank the sidewalk around the flagpole, which also displays Old Glory at half staff. Two patriotic wreaths overlook the scene.
.
Starting today at B-L Primary School, there will be some changes to the way we line up cars in the afternoon for student dismissal. Please see the graphic for additional details and information. As an important note, these changes only apply to the AFTERNOON PICK-UP LINE. The morning car drop-off line will continue to use the single far-right lane as normal.
Beginning on Monday, August 30th, all students who ride a school bus in Lexington Three will be required to wear a face covering while on board the bus. The same rule is applicable to staff and school bus drivers as well. This comes after the SC Department of Education announced on Thursday, August 26th that it would again enforce the CDC's Order that requires the use of face coverings by people on public transportation conveyances and hubs, which includes school buses.
B-L Primary School has kicked off a brand new morning news show!
This week's anchors are Knowland Brunson (left) and Yates Taylor (right), both second grade students. The show is overseen by Mr. Lambert, the school's Assistant Administrator. Great job Panther cubs!
