Mr. Benard Trotter's Building Construction classes at B-L High School recently completed nine picnic tables (that are ADA compliant) for use at the SC State Fair this fall. The project, which was coordinated by MEBA and the SC State Fair Facilities Team, provided a wonderful opportunity for our students to produce a physical product for a business partner. Great job BLHS students!

All students in Lexington Three will be receiving interim reports on Friday, September 17th with the exception of students who attend B-L Primary School. Because of the ongoing transitions we are currently experiencing due to COVID-19 at BLPS, those students will not receive interim progress reports on September 17th. Instead, student data notebooks will be sent home for review on Thursday, September 30th.

It appears that the water supply problems in the Town of B-L are not going to resolve themselves as soon as we had hoped, so we will be dismissing students early today (September 8th). We will follow our normal car rider and bus rider procedures with students dismissing at the following times: B-L Primary School students will dismiss at 9:00 am B-L Elementary School students will dismiss at 9:15 am. B-L Middle School students will dismiss at 9:30 am. Please note that the rest of this school day will be an E-Learning Day. Students in K4 will have paper assignment packets sent home with them. Students in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade can access their assignments in Google Classroom via their Chromebook. At B-L High School, there will not be any live virtual classes today. Instead, students in grades 9th through 12th can find their assignments in Google Classroom as well.

Lexington Three is aware of major water supply issues affecting the Town of Batesburg-Leesville. Due to the timing of this advisory, Lexington Three is planning to open schools at their regular times today and we will attempt to hold a normal school day as we're told water could be restored soon. However, if water is not able to be restored, we may have to have an early dismissal day. Parents/Guardians should stay tuned for additional messaging that would be forthcoming should an early dismissal need to occur. Thank you for working with us.

THANK YOU! We wanted to give a shout out to the entire Batesburg-Leesville community for the support you show us. Today, we had a $1,400 check dropped off by a representative of the Leesville Merchants Association. The money will be used to replenish items in our student supply closets at B-L Middle and B-L High Schools. In addition to this, NUMEROUS churches, organizations and groups have contributed various items to us this school year including school supplies, teacher gifts, yummy treats, etc. and we are truly just so thankful. Batesburg-Leesville IS THE PLACE TO BE!

JROTC cadets at B-L High School set up a touching memorial today in front of their school in honor of the service men and women killed last week in Afghanistan. 13 pairs of boots, along with 13 American flags flank the sidewalk around the flagpole, which also displays Old Glory at half staff. Two patriotic wreaths overlook the scene. .

Starting today at B-L Primary School, there will be some changes to the way we line up cars in the afternoon for student dismissal. Please see the graphic for additional details and information. As an important note, these changes only apply to the AFTERNOON PICK-UP LINE. The morning car drop-off line will continue to use the single far-right lane as normal.

Beginning on Monday, August 30th, all students who ride a school bus in Lexington Three will be required to wear a face covering while on board the bus. The same rule is applicable to staff and school bus drivers as well. This comes after the SC Department of Education announced on Thursday, August 26th that it would again enforce the CDC's Order that requires the use of face coverings by people on public transportation conveyances and hubs, which includes school buses.

Lexington Three is beginning the dismissal process once again at all of our schools as of 4 pm. Thank you for your extreme understanding and patience this afternoon as we worked through several inclement weather situations. Remember--Buses will be running later than normal due to these dismissal delays and all afterschool activities/evening classes at the Lifelong Learning Center have been cancelled for today.

As we started dismissing students a little bit ago, another tornado warning was issued for our area. So we have once again halted dismissal at our schools. We apologize for the numerous phone calls/texts this afternoon but we are dealing with the weather on a minute-by-minute basis and are doing everything we can to ensure the safety of our students and staff. Thank you for your patience with us. We will update you once the warning has been lifted.
