Last night, the Batesburg-Leesville High School Panther football program gathered for a heartwarming end-of-the-year banquet, honoring two extraordinary individuals for their many decades of dedicated service. 👏 A round of applause and a heartfelt congratulations to Chip Penick, a true legend in B-L athletics, for an outstanding 30 years of service! Former Panthers Varsity Football Coach Phil Strickland proudly presented the award to Chip, recognizing his outstanding commitment as the football team's equipment manager. 🎉 Coach Gary Smallen, also an icon in B-L athletics, was celebrated for an astonishing 50 years of service. The award, presented by former Coastal Carolina football coach and colleague David Bennett, showcased Coach Smallen's enduring impact and dedication. Coach Smallen serves as the football team's Offensive Coordinator and is Head Coach of the golf team. Lexington Three extends its gratitude to Chip and Coach Smallen for their unwavering support of our student athletes!

Our third graders put on a fantastic holiday show last night in the Lexington Three Fine Arts Center! The program, titled "Crazy Carols," featured songs such as "The First Snowfall," "They Test You Merry Gentlemen," and "Clean The Halls."
Enjoy more pictures on our Facebook page! Happy holidays!

Have you driven past the Lexington Three District Office at night recently? It's truly a beautiful sight to see this holiday season! Be sure to check it out! 338 West Columbia Avenue, Batesburg-Leesville

Lexington Three hosted its first ever Farm to Table event on Saturday, December 2nd at B-L Primary School. Select families were invited to attend the special farmers market where they received a $60 voucher to obtain items such as local honey, gallons of milk, sweet potatoes, pecans, peaches, grits, peas, butternut squash, tomatoes and so much more! Families also received food recipes that they could make with some of the items and could even sample the recipes! Our school nurses were also on hand with great health info as well. A special thanks to our Food Services Department for organizing the event and to the SC Department of Agriculture for providing the funding. What a great example of Panthers helping Panthers!

We are so, so grateful for the nonprofit organization SOLE Stepping and all of the volunteers who came out to B-L Elementary School on December 5th. Smiles were plentiful as each of our third, fourth and fifth grade students received a brand new pair of shoes for free as well as a handwritten note of encouragement. What a great day in Lexington Three!

What a terrific evening at B-L Elementary School's Family Literacy Night on Thursday, November 30th! In addition to literacy activities, there was also a student art show! Check out a ton of great pictures on our Facebook page!

8th grade students in Mrs. Lindsay's science class at B-L Middle School have been working super hard the past few weeks on projects that answer the question "Can genetics save the world?" They were tasked with designing a GMO product that hasn't been invented yet that meets a global need. On Thursday, November 30th, they had to pitch their ideas to a group of pretend investors. (Similar to the tv show Shark Tank!) The end results left everyone speechless as students proposed some very creative ideas!

Dr. Timothy Hunter, author of "Getting Butter From The Duck," is at B-L Elementary School today speaking to our students about the importance of thinking outside of the box, embracing their creativity and never giving up! Such great life lessons for these third, fourth and fifth graders! 💛💜

Our schools are rocking and rolling following our week-long Thanksgiving break! Over at B-L Middle School, students are enjoying having the SC Farm Bureau Agriculture Learning Lab at their school today. The Learning Lab teaches students about important South Carolina commodities and how many of them go from the field to our plates. The lessons are aligned to state learning standards, so students are able to apply math, science, English and social studies principles to agriculture.

Students in Mrs. Shealy’s, Mrs. Norton’s, and Mrs. Smith’s classes are participating in Clemson University’s Expanded Food & Nutrition Education Program. Through this six week program, students have the opportunity to participate in hands-on, interactive lessons that teach the importance of healthy habits. Students will learn to choose healthy snacks, develop healthy eating habits, increase physical activity, and practice safe food handling. These classes provide real-world examples and background knowledge for students that tie to the South Carolina State Science Standards.

Let's just say that the shine party at B-L Primary School last night was a ✨glowing✨ success! A special thanks to the BLPS PTO for sponsoring the event and to everyone who attended!

Today, our Panther students gathered for a delightful Thanksgiving-themed lunch and it was a feast to remember! 🍽️🍁 A huge shoutout to our incredible Food Services Department for always going above and beyond to make sure our students are treated to healthy and delicious meals.

B-L Primary and B-L Elementary Schools were recognized by the SC Department of Education today for their efforts in prioritizing physical education and physical activity. Ben Miedema, the Education Associate for Health and Physical Education for the Office of Assessment & Standards, presented certificates to Mrs. Mowry and Coach Bouknight from BLPS and Coach Evans and Ms. Yaworski from BLES. Both of these schools were among those that met the Students Health and Fitness Act requirements for weekly minutes of physical education and physical activity during the 2022-23 school year.
Congratulations! #lexington3istheplacetobe #beapanther #pantherstrong

Our friends in the Panther Pals and Reading Buddies Mentoring Program had their fall skating party today at Celebrations in Leesville. There were lots of smiles to go around as kiddos skated and enjoyed pizza together!
