Millions of people around the world participated in today's Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drill, including students and staff in Lexington County School District Three. The international drill typically takes place each year on 10/20 at 10:20 am. Great ShakeOut earthquake drills are an opportunity to practice how to be safer during earthquakes by encouraging people to "drop, cover and hold on." We had a great kickoff to National School Lunch Week on Monday, October 10th! First, students at B-L Elementary School got to enjoy having the PET Cow at their school for the official launch of strawberry milk in the school cafeteria. Strawberry milk is now a drink option at all four of Lexington Three's schools! Then, over at B-L Middle and B-L High Schools, a new Smart Mouth brand pizza flavor got kicked off! Students now have the option of choosing a BBQ chicken pizza when they go through our lunch lines. Some of our district administrators even got in on the fun of making the new pizzas and serving them to students at BLHS! We also gave away some Smart Mouth pizza swag to our students.
Congratulations to the Panther Band for bringing home the first place trophy on Saturday in the 1A division of the Band Beat Championship that was held at Catawba Ridge High School in Fort Mill!

On Wednesday, August 24th, come out to the B-L Sonic and grab your dinner between the hours of 5 pm and 8 pm to support Panther athletics! During that time period, 10 percent of the sales will go directly to BLHS. In addition, BLHS is competing against Gilbert High School. They will be doing a "Carhops for Cash" at a different Sonic location at the same time. Whichever school brings in the most sales will get an additional $500 presented to them during half time on Friday night in the BLHS vs. Gilbert game...in addition to a trophy and bragging rights. Let's go Panthers!
